This safety notice applies to the following Optoma projector mounts and is information for AV installers that may have recently used one of the following mount kits in a projector installation:

  • Optoma OCM818W
  • Optoma OCM818B

If you have received the above mounting kits between 4th September 2017 – 1st November 2017 please read the below carefully.

We have been informed by our supplier that one of the components in the mount kits is missing, resulting in the mount being potentially faulty, and could lead to the mount failing. Please use the guide below to identify the affected part and ascertain if any of your installations are affected. If you identify an affected installation please remove the projector from the mount immediately and contact Optoma to arrange the return and replacement of the affected unit:

Faulty part identification

The missing components are the M8x55 Socket cap screw and corresponding M8 Nylock nut located on the centre column. This can be identified from the diagrams below.

If you have received mounts missing these components between 4th September 2017 - 1st November please contact Optoma to arrange the return and replacement of the affected unit.
